google showing sitelinks for my site

In webmaster tool I can find a tool which shows the sitelinks for my site. I haven't done anything extra but now it appears. I heard of authority websites or websites that comes top in SERP for a particular keyphrase get sitelinks from google.

But my website is not ranked at top. Is there any change in google's policy? I found this one http://www.google.com/support/webmas...n&answer=47334
Can anyone put more light on it?

Nope, it doesn't indicate authority, that was always just wishful thinking.

Yes, even it can happen to a website getting 10-20 visitors from Google.

Google is doing this more often now...my site has it too. It's automatic, so I'm assuming they "tweeked" something. It does not help with SERP's or anything else. It just looks..."neat".
