How is this done??

When doing a search in Google and Yahoo, the first result is the top ranked site for that keyword. Below that top site and indented in both Google and Yahoo are a number of advertised sites.
What is the mechanism by which you get your site listed in this area. I am not talking about ad words as I have that already, and am listed in the right column. The listings I am talking about are right below the top ranked site, and indented in the main column. As I said, they are listed in Google and Yahoo with identical text provided by the site.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

This is called Pay Per Click and you must pay per each person that clicks on your link as the name insinuates. You can find more information on Google's Adwords here. and Yahoo goes through Overture.

Hi,
I don't think is is ad words. Do a search for "paper tole" on Google.
In the results you will see the number 1 site 1. "Cut and Paste" Sites 2-4 are paid inclusions and indented. Site ranked 5 is the second url from the top ranked site. We have an adword for this search term in the right column and appear there.
The questions is, how do those sites 2-4 get in the results middle column as paid adds. You can see they are paid adds because they have chosen their own wording for the add.

The exact same situation is found in Yahoo, it seems using the same ads. Could there be someone else offerring pay per click which is displayed on Google and Yahoo?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I think you have more than a spyware bot; you most likely have a hijacker. However, attempt to use spybot S&D to clean it first.

You need either one of these. Try them in order.

1. SpyBot S&D
2. Hijackthis!

Spybot is almost fool proof so any SEO can use it (tech range 1 to 10 of 10)

Hijackthis you'll need a tech range of 7 to 10 (of 10) to use it properly. You can seriously mess up your configuration if you don't know exactly what you're doing.
