Google Analytics old code vs new code

In October of 2007 Google Analytics released new tracking code. The new code provided support for event tracking, new object oriented functionality, and more compact output for faster downloads.

When I configured my instance of GATC, I opted to use the old code. I'm not quite at a point where event tracking means much to me. I run a slew of similar utilities such as AWStats, Webalizer, and Analog, and they provide me with the information I need. But my curiousity is getting the better of me. I found this while searching for a comparison between old and new code:

http://www.reubenyau.com/first-glanc...racking-codes/

The comparisons completed by Reuben Yau are invalid due to the fact that Google states both old and new code should not be run concurrently against the same page as doing so may disrupt the results.

Has anyone here done a comparable but valid comparison between the old and new tracking codes?

Alex.
