Building the main page...

Hey everyone,

I find this place very helpful, and I learn some nice stuff here, just from looking in other posts.. thanks for all the nice people around.... !

- I am building my index page and I want to make it ready for the next google.
How do I need to make the main page? do I need to include in the text ALL the keywords I want to be found with?
- What are the things you guys doing before building up the main page.

I got a nice suggestion from someone who told me to check out http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/?keywords=
and try to put as much keywords as I can in the body.

- Also, he told me that the most important things are H1 text, META Tags, Title.

Do I need to follow those leads?

Thank you guys for any help in this matter...

Cdx.

hi Cdx
glad you like it here

on the home page you usually want to target maybe 1 - 3 main keywords and use inner pages to target other phrases.

properly using keyword phrases within headers, sub headers, page titles, body text, and meta tags will help your pages rank well. also getting inbound links with your keywords in them helps.

try to write copy that reads good or else it wont convert. if you get your keywords in your page title H1 and some H2 tags then you can write your content without needing to worry much about keyword density and it will kinda take care of itself.

Right. For simpler terms, you can almost fully concentrate on the copy and forget the keyworst. Just get enough inbound links.

Like scisoft said just get enough inbound links but also a Good HTML page <TITLE> tag with 2-3 key words that make a nice sentence. However you have the option to forget the copy and use your meta description tag that will show up in Google results if keywords contained within the description tag are there. Make the description read nice. If those keywords are in the copy Google will choose to show the page and not the description tag.

Description tag does not help ranking unlike copy can.. but copy can be messy so I use description tag. Copy only helps for non competitive words.
