Google just re-listed my sites tonight a few hrs ago, I'm a little more than excited! Did really well

Congrats from me as well. But my sites were not indexed again yet. They were all (except 1) dropped a few days ago, but since they are new, I'm not too woried, just want to see them back in the index.
They will probably be included again when google updates next, I assume.

burgi82: you seem to think that Google dropping new sites is completely normal.

My situation: I opened the site aaanimalcontrol.com last March. It never showed in Google search results until I got a few links to my page in August. Realizing the power of SEO, I updated my keywords and got more links, and soon I was doing very well. Then on October 8th, my site completely vanished from the index. I've been told that sometimes Google messes up and accidentally drops sites. Is this normal? I've also been told to wait for the next update, and that it would reappear. But the next update seems to have happened within the last two days, and my site has not reappeared? Again, is this normal? Should I be worried? I know I'm not banned - I broke no rules, and banning is rare.

If I were you, I would not worry about it too much. The fact is that your site is still new to google, since you were listed for the first time only in August. Now, I must admit that my sites that dropped where only published in mid-september, so they are newer.
But, my sites were actually on the 2nd or 3rd page for my targeted keywords, and since about a week, I have no idea where they are. Definitely not in the top 100, or even 200.
Again, I'm not too woried about it, as you shouldn't be woried either, because I have done nothing wrong, and my sites even show that they have a toolbar PR, which means that they are not punished, because then I would have no PR at all.
For my industry, I have not seen a google update in the last few days. I only saw the backlinks and PR updating, but the rankings for my targeted keywords did not update at all. They did about 2 weeks ago, and for me do ususally on around the 14th of a month.
So, I personally am going to get quality inbound links, and I'll see if I get listed with the next update.
See, the reason that I'm not too woried is that for me it doesn't matter if my site is listed on page 3 or not at all. If it's not on page 1, I won't receive much traffic, if any, from it.
But having that said, my sites still somehow receive traffic, eventhough I can't find them in google. I really do need to install a statstool on the site to figure out from where the visitors are coming. But my preferred statstool is currently updating and doesn't allow new websites to participate. But, I think that they'll open up again for business today, so I will soon find out where the traffic is coming from.
My suggestion to you is to just keep working on your site, get more links and wait for the next update and hope that you site is included then. I really don't know why all the sites are currently being dropped, but I have heard from several people that this might happen to newer sites. I didn't do anything wrong, and should therefore not be banned.
That is why I'm assuming that I will be soon included again.

Google often drops sites for no apparent reason, and then they return after a while. It's a glitch in Google.

We don't have updates like we used to have where the rankings shuffled. We now have backlinks/PR updates - that's the current one.

If you haven't done anything to attract a penalty, your site will be back.

One thing I'd like to mention about this google indexing.. according to my benchmark sites, google isn't finished shuffling yet.. I have these sites that always list in about the same place (top 5) and have been for years, so watching these tells me what's going on at the moment with Google. Right now they aren't even on the first 5 pages.. so that tells me that the cards are still up in the air.. what I was telling you with my post is that Google indexed a couple new sites of mine and the new versions just showed up in cache. I will post when my benchmark sites are back in their usual position if you like.

He also has a PR of 3, and I also think that he is not penalized and I think that he will soon be shown in the search results soon again.
