Giving the right information

One thing that annoys me on forums is that people ask for information and advice on how to improve what they are doing and are often given the wrong information.

The responses in many ways are completely innocent and the posters believe they are giving the correct information but, not everyone is qualified to give the right information.

If someone can backup their advice with links directly to accurate sources, please read them before responding. It can have an adverse affect on the OP's decision on what to do if you are giving uneducated advice.

If someone posts a source, please read and authenticate it before adding your comment to the thread. You may learn something along the way too.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but i didn't know where else to put it.

I completely agree.

The "submit your article to as many article sites as you can" in particular cracks me up.

And while it is nice to back up claims with a source, you need to keep in mind two things.
1) people are out to make money so they come out with publications that may or may not be true;
2) SEOs don't want to give out their secrets because they want to make money.

I think that everyone post his thoughts and you can trust him that info is correct and vice versa.

Its my first day here but I have read quite a few threads. I honestly think that the Google webmaster forums provides me with more professional and trusted responses overall.

Yeah I agree with you.. once I went to a thread where there is a list of directories PR 2-4, but just to find out that the listed sites where of PR 0, yes there are listed site with PR2,3 and 4. But the majority was of 0.

PR just updated last month.. April they update unexpectedly.. It really sucks that in today's update of PR, there are some malfunctions in their updates.
