Its something you don't worry about.......but its nice to have when you get it!

The best analogy is getting laid........you seem to get more of it when you're not trying to get it!

Links are the same way.....

once you have the PR, everyone wants to exchange links with you!

So I don't care about being PR 4.......but I'd like to be there some day (still getting top of Google SERP in my top 4 key words with a PR 3).

Just wondering, what kind of site do you have on the top page without any back links? What keywords or phrase do you use as criteria (how competetive they are) to see you site on the top page, and what search engines do you mean when you say top page?

its simply becouse i believe backlink is important and if it two word phrase keyword backlink is more than necessity.

its true that Pr does help to get high ranking. moreover 100 PR 6 banklink with relevant site is always a bonus to get higher ranking, but these are the few factor which help us to gain ranking with these there are other facor too for gainning rankings

I would like to know how do you do that? As for me, I do not care about PR anymore, all I care about is SERP. To see my website in the first page of Google or any other search engines is my dream.

I am still trying to figure out why you linked to a thread in another forum when you didn't say anything more there, than you did here.

Well yes google pagerank is no more as popular as it used to be. I think a time will come when people will ignore it just like they ignore alexa ranking

Until Google chooses to ignore PageRank by removing it from the algorithm, it would be pretty foolish for any website owner to do so. No, I don't think it is something you should stress over, but for serious results in the SERPS, it sure shouldn't be ignored.

Hi Cricket. I am so excited to see such a quick response to my post. I am new to this forum (though not to other webmaster forums :p ) but nowhere I saw such a fast response from admin board . Its really really appreciated. Dont know if I am allowed to send a rep but I will certainly make an attempt to give one to the admin

Now coming down to topic, yes certainly we just can't ignore pagerank but I believe the focus should be on optimization which would lead to higher SERP. There are sites who do so well but have low PR and there could be sites (i am not too sure) which would have decent page rank but would be doing not so good.

But yes no doubt that a site with very high PR would certainly be doing great

I feel real lucky to have a personal welcome from an admin in the forum. I will definitely spend some time everyday on the forum and will post on regular basis.
