This happened to me too. For one of my sites I did very little marketing and I launched it a couple of weeks prior to Google PR update. But yes, it had a few good back links from high PR sites. But I wouldn't have thought they were sufficient for a quick PR 3.

Maybe you have friends / partners accessing the new site from different locations which triggered the bots to index your site at once.

If you just launced the site, it may only be there temporarily.
Search engines go through updates and rotations.
But, hope it stays!

What you mean by number 3 ranking. do you mean pr3. As i can see your site pr still not ranked yet.

Rest indexing is very quick by google now and that is not a new case.
