How did my site get indexed so fast?
I just started another site and published it. It was indexed within 3 days with a number 3 ranking. I did no marketing or link building yet.
How is this possible? Cool but I am confused. My previous site took 3 weeks.

You may have jumped in when indexing was being filed and the major engines grabbed your sites information the first day it was launched, and indexed it from the information it had been provided with. Your crawl options must be set to every other day unless it's on every 7 days in your meta tags.
Great work, and I hope things go well for you

Interesting... I was figuring that it was not my good looks, just a little luck in timing!

Well, understand the website may not stay indexed/ranked. If you don't build some incoming links it might fall out of the search engines fairly quickly.
As far as what caused it to get indexed so fast. If you put the website up almost as soon as you registered it, google will often follow the purchase of the website within 3 days and index whatever is put up. Which is what could have happened to you.
All in all, it's a little random why/when it happens.

Oh, and the fact that you StumbledUpon your website on April 29th might have something to do with how you got indexed.

Will site map and link exchange help to speed up this procedure?

It took me a week to get indexed. The notable point here is, it got indexed the 2nd day from when I added sitemap at Google's webmaster tools.

If you have a link on a big site to your site then you can get your site indexed in a day or two.

thief try linkreferral.com site
They say you have to
visit 30 sites
review 5 sites and
start 1 new thread in their forum
It also gets you some traffic. Besides u can find people who might run boards similar to urz and u can interact with that owners.. and oh i am bored to type now Lol Sorry

Linking to already indexed and crawled sites will speed up indexing..
Indexing depends on the sites crawled by SEs frequently visited sites and they index and crawl every links it has.

Note to all, as a matter of course, I submit sitemaps to Google, Yahoo, & Live as soon as I published so this is good advice for others (or at least does not hurt).
Thanks for your positive replies!
