How to tell if web page is penalized
I need some info.

Are there any tools or any common tests available? I already know site: shows the pages, link: shows nothing WHICH it should, and there is no page rank anymore.

I've been at a loss on this site for a long time. Don't know what to do.

sometimes its temporary, try checking in about 2 days.

If you were involved in some sort of black hat then it could be sandbox effect. In either case, don't panic, just want and see. Also don't forget to check the status on all other search engines.

Well......its tough to say and...better to check that it has banned by google ban checking tool or suppose a site ranked well on google and any time it disapperd from search results and even after a log time doesn't comes back in search results and you do no find it in google index.......and site have involved in any black Hat SEO technique then you can say a site has been penalised.......

If your site is banned you can check it through google site:www.yourdomain.com .

If it doesn't show anything your site is probably banned but if your site is sandboxed you will not get high rankings for any of your keyword during this period. I haven't came across any tool which can figure out whether a site is sanboxed or not.

do you have a Google webmaster tool? if you don't, make an account and add your site's xml and from there you will see if your site is indexed by Google, including which pages are indexed, and if it shows no result I think you can request for a reconsideration if ever your site is banned.
