Have a speculation about when Google will update?

Do you think there has been a backlinks update? PR update?

There seems to be an update to PR in process - we are seeing jumps back and forth all over the place

Saw a site I created and left in Feb go to PR 1 from 0 but my others I have been trying to promote have both stayed at PR0.

All my websites backlinks updated when I use link:www command and Google webmaster tools

None of my sites PR updated yet.

I often respond to PR updates with mixed feelings. On one hand, it motivates me to work harder on my sites whether or not they've gained in PR.

It occasionally serves as a demotivator for those who've worked hard to build links and have low or no PR to show for it. It could be an indication that you're moving in the wrong direction.

What are your post PR update thoughts? Are you motivated? Why? Are you demotivated? Why? What sorts of tasks have been added to your todo lists? Are you looking forward to the next update?

PR is just the icing on the cake, but not very important for me. I am very motivated to rank my pages well (SERPS).

Yes yes I believe its true for almost everyone

Our focus should always be on SERP and not on PR. And yes if we get a higher PR then nothing like it

. It feels like a crown on head but it never pays you anything. Only SERP pays :p

Definitely in the middle of an update. I was dorking with my site last Tuesday trying to work around a very limiting store - why should it be so hard to set the filenames for my own categories? - and google screamed through last Tuesday while half my products were "gone" for an hour and I lost a full point in ranking.

And my backlinks seem to be missing as well....

Moving to a new store tomorrow. (moment of silence, please.) <shiver>

PR3 is a decent PR. Focus on increasing SERP of your blog to get the real flavor

Just checked this morning and the PR for both my sites has been updated.

One went from PR5 to PR6, the other from PR4 to PR6.

SERP = Search Engine Results Page...

It's how highly you rank for a given set of keywords.

Very Happy. Very motivated.

This increase is a sign that the work in the lsat 6 months or so has helped.

There also seems to have been an increase in SERP, so I take PR only as one indicator - not the only one.

All this gives me a reason to add content to the site and for quality backlinks for SERP results only.

I am not willing to look at buying links right now. Will reconsider later on.

High PR on your site is good for advertisers
