I have many sites like google news that I skim over on a daily basis, just to find out what everyday people are talking about. Personally I think google news is just like many news corporations. They just report on what gets them readers/views and money. But everyone loves money right, so who can blame them?

Never read Google News, I use my.yahoo for that. I do use iGoogle for blog searches though. I have a few keywords searches preset, and it pulls up the last 10 blogs posts for each keyword.

yeah it does help in seaching keywords
