Not ranking in uk results

When a site is ranking well in the serps results but is not showing up for the uk results in google what can be the reason for this? & how do you get your site in the uk serps also....

I have heard its to do with your host & if there based in the uk or not, is this correct.

a big part of it is where your server is located....

alternatively - but the .co.uk version of your domain name and redirect to your main site.

Cheers oldsocks,

Really I would like to keep just one domain for now - so it looks as though changing to uk based host is the way forward - but would this ensure both global serps and uk? and would my current rankings be affected if changing hosts.

Also, secondly if i did buy the uk domain and uploaded the whole site to the co.uk would this be seen as duplicate content?

if you have the same exact site at two different locations that would be the perfect definition of duplicate content

if you are hosted in the uk it will most likely boost your uk rankings (or get you in that subset of results if you are not) and it will probably not hurt your global rankings (assuming you were going to use a reliable quality host that was usually up).

it doesn't cost much to register an additional domain.

the geo-googles are determined solely by where the host is located, yeah.
