Finally accomplished PR1 in 4 months
I started my image hosting site in late march and just a few days ago I reached a page rank of 1. I'm very happy . It took lots of hard working adding my site to many many directory sites and some social networking sites too. I've also in the past month increased my traffic 4x. Everything is going well except for some hosting problems i've had the past 4 days with my provider. I was actually offline for 13 hours yesterday. They restarted my vps so Hopefully it has fixed the problem..
I'd just like to thank everyone at v7n for helping me with my website from the start. There's a lot of great information here.

I'm still new here, so I'm sure I didn't play a part in your success, but I'm still happy to hear it nevertheless! Please be sure to update us of your progress, especially steps that you've taken to help you grow your page rank so we can all learn from each other!

Will do ww2db!
I started out by downloading a .txt file here with a list of some ridiculous number like 5000 directory websites. And I spent about 30 minutes every night for a week plowing through as many directories possible submitting my website. It's very time consuming and has a low approval rate from the directories but it ended up working in the long run. I also submitted my url to a few websites that would submit mine to a bunch of search engines. And after that I just posted on forums that were in the target market of my website. I would add my link in my forum signature. Hope that helps. I'm still learning too.

Paraphrasing Confucius, as we grow old, we must continue to learn, so you and me both, my friend! It is important to keep learning. It'll keep our minds sharp, broaden our horizons, and of course bring in more Google Adsense (or what-have-you) income!

I'm happy to hear that, congratulations. One thing I'd like to suggest is don't focus on getting PR. Yes PR is still a factor but don't put all time on it. Focus more on ranking targeted keywords. But I still congratulate you especially when you got you're traffic increased 4 times

I personally don't pay attention to pr any more. Just make sure that your site remains useful and people will continue to visit....

nice to hear that dude! PR has a factor but you must focus more on increasing your rankings in SERP and gather quality backlinks!

PR still acts as a multiplier for most things, it just isn't as noticeable as Google continues to broaden the factors that they use to rank a site. I agree that you shouldn't focus on it as it will come when it comes.
Very nice on getting to PR1. I hope that you continue to explore new avenues to drive traffic to your site.

Congrats. But I think you still have the same problem.. "can't find sever", is your website the one you have under your profile?

Wow... that's amazing.
It took you 4 months? Jeez, Louise, Marize! I'd starve if I had to wait that long!
Last time I launched a site, it took me 3 weeks to get a 3/10 ranking! And it's still at 3/10 today. Yikes.
Well, good luck, guy.
