That was a good idea, but only when people advertise on CPM basis because at least they will get some clicks and the probabilily that they then renew their advertising is good, but google punishes for fake clicks and I'm sure that this would be considered against their terms.

First, your friend needs new hosting. The site has taken so long to load, I gave up on it three times already today.

But on the issue of his money making, what is his CTR? I'm guessing it's very high. The reason being, most people block out ads if they are recognizable as ads.

Look how the Google Adsense border is not visible. The Google adsense links are the same color as the site navigation links. The descriptive text is, too.

It's also top of the page, center. I think your friend is damn near genius. I went to the page yesterday, didn't see any Adsense ads, and so I thought I'd surf the site a little to find the pages with ads. The first link I clicked on was in fact an Adsense ad, which I thought was a site navigation link.

Very good stuff there. Making the ads blend seemlessly with the site.

YEs I have the same comments as JS on that. When I went to the doll site I had to look for a few minutes to find the adsense ads and only then did I notice them because of the Adsense link in the lower right corner.

Having the banner ad "above the fold" (ie at the top of the page so its on the screen when they visit) is key to getting more people clicking. Dont base click thru performance on a few hour time period u need to really run it for a week in one spot and then move it to another spot for a week and see the results.

Third creating a site with the sole intent on making money with adsense is not a good idea.

I agree with the last statement made that creating a site just for adsense is not a good idea.
I own a few sites right now, and they are basically all selling the same stuff. I also just added adsense to these sites, which is a nice supplemental income, but I really don't rely on adsense in any form. I'm always woried about being dropped from adsense and my account closed.
But I do use their system, to diversify my income a little bit, meaning that if one merchant doesn't pay, I don't have to take a huge hit, just a big one.
