That is correct. If the buyer got penalized it would be easy to get your competitor penalized just by buying some links and pointing them towards his site.

They probably haven't gotten caught by Google yet. Once Google figures out they purchased links, they will get a massive slap in the face.

And how can Google tell who did the purchasing? Again... there is little that one can do to harm a competitor. If it was that easy everyone would be buying cheap links and pointing them to their competitor's sites to get them penalized.

There is really no code to crack, Wiki has amazing domain authority and moderated user generated content.

I agree on this. I think nobody would ever buy cheap links for your site because you would probably boost their serp by doing so. The change you will get the penalized if very low, assuming it actually exist.

By the way, my competitors do buy them (i know some of them personally) and they are sitting very comfortably in the first 3 positions our market's main searched kw.

I have the temptation to give it a try.

Google knows about most of the networking link sellers. They even advertise their services online. Sooner or later Google will just adjust and rerun their filter and none or few of the links you buy from those places will do you any good. Waste of money.

In terms of time, how long would it take to post 1000 backlinks? How to do this without on good sites HIGH PR, withouth wasting time?

If you do it yourself perhaps a few minutes per link. If you outsource the task it would be done in a couple days from the time they start. The thing about general directories is that some post your link quickly and some are slow. From the time they are posted it depends on how long it takes to get those links spidered.

I assume you mean "stuffing". Certainly not in a competitive arena and in generally only to your disadvantage. I wouldn't suggest it.
