Okay quick update. Here's where I'm at now.
Finalized the building texture and I'm happy with it. I'm happy with the road and the lamps thought the lights will need tweaking. Next, gota wrap up the sidewalk texture then I'll start modeling building number two. Which ever one that ends up being.

Looks great! Ever thought of getting into game development? I'm currently working on a game engine for an FPS, next I have to develop characters, which may take me a while!

I have a problem making out anything but the sky and lights, I have to take these opened attachments into PS and turn the brightness up to view the details of the buildings. I'm quite perplexed by this as my monitor's brightness/contrast is maxed, yet it is at normal brightness and contrast, it's just that it's at the high end of it's range. Could it be that the buildings are at a reduced brightness and or contrast level?

I have thought about it and did some development with a friend using TGB. We made a top-down 2d scroller. It was fun. But I do web design/animation and graphics. I leave the game stuff to the pros.
And my 3d skills are mediocre at best. I'm still learning and wouldn't put myself out on the line on any projects but my own.

Also something to keep in mind when looking at this shot, because it's a night shot and not brightly lit, when viewing as an attachment on a white background the image might actually seem darker than it is but that's because all of the white on the page around it has closed off your iris.
Also there is no post work, no color correction or levels which is something I do in post. These have all been straight out of max renders.

Beauty, dude! That solved my problem. When I went to adjust the brightness, I found that it was all the way down, and the contrast was all the way up!
I thought that they were both maxed but was remembering incorrectly, I had one maxed but the other at minimum. It was then just a simple matter of turning my brightness up to around 50% to achieve the shades that the calibration tool suggested. Nice one, thanks, Lickster.

If anyone is interested in swinging by and saying hi, I'm broadcasting as I'm working on this. I'll try and keep it as active as possible throughout. During normal working hours of course.

Nice, thanks much. I just downloaded and installed it.
My eyes are having trouble adjusting to the new brighter screen since I've adjusted the brt/con properly, I'll just have to get used to it I guess. I was just viewing a few of my old graphics creations and I'm tempted to burn them down a bit, but of course, I won't. I suspect any new creations should be more accurate, hoping anyway.

I did check out your justin.tv, I said hi but I don't think you heard me. I'd sign up but I'm scared. Is that a spaceship console? Looks cool. Looks like you were doing some tedious work there. You should get up and buttflash the camera occasionally, you'll get more signups and they'll stay longer.

Ok, cool, I'll check in tomorrow and see if I can catch one. You'll be famous before long. Do one about every hour or so. See if you can get a g/f to do some text, you can have a different message each time.

Better idea, why don't you sign up as a girl and pretend to be my gf. I'll be cool by extension. (:

Dude, after I closed the site the music kept playing, I had to close and re-open the browser to get it to stop. |-|_

Another update:
Finished off the road and sidewalk. Modeled four more buildings and textured one of them (except for the windows) Also added some little details and tweaked the environment for some volumetric lighting. The sky got washed out becuase of that but I'll bring it back later.

The lighting increase made a major difference to me, I can make out most of the detail now.
I know that you want it dark as you indicated before, but it was really too dark.
As it is now the darkness has an almost eerie look, it looks good.

Ya I definitely increased the general lighting because of your feedback. I agree it works. We'll see how it changes down the line.
