Thanks Duval. It's a personal project. I won't be sharing the details until it's near release. Likely, about 4-6 months from now.
PM me with your flash project.

UPDATE***
Some major changes. Mainly the resolution change. I was previously working at 1000x450 which is my defacto widescreen resolution. It doesn't follow ye'ol standard but it was widescreen and I like that format. However I was concerned about displaying it on large screens like LCD flat panels as well as in HD. The res was pretty small and lots of details got lost so I made ths shift to 720HD. Going to 1080 just wasn't going to work, waaay to big. At 720 the res is now 1280X720 so that's huge and the detail is a lot less crunched together.
Here is the latest render.
Updated the sky and integrated the distant buildings a little more. Tweaked some textures and finished up the Bar at the end of the street. You'll notice some perspective issues, mainly the bottom right corner: missing sidewalk - cracked texture ends aburptly. In the old res, those were hidden but now they are exposed so I'll have to fix them up. BTW the block on the bottom left is just a placeholder for a balcony.

Coming along quite nicely. Just a minor observation, the traffic lights look out of place unhooded.

If the large front facing one had hoods, would the circles of color still be round considering the angle?
I thought not but I could be wrong.

I know that the colored circles are not perfectly round, but they appear to be too close to it,
and I just turned up my monitor brightness and I don't see any hoods.
Are you sure they have hoods?

If the hoods are not installed, then the project must be stopped.
Now that's final.
I want to see shiny hoods.
Ok I better just let you go, lol.

yep.
I didn't model these. They were freebees off TurboSquid along with the lamp posts.

lol. Maybe I should model my own traffic lights then. Though I'm not sure they would be any different.

I might actually end up ditching that intersection traffic light as it is only a one way street so a stop sign will be better I think.

You could just make some up with the pen tool and add some shine, or maybe modeling is easier, I don't know.

Lots of poeple compare that shot to GTA. I find it pretty funny when people compare a ubiquitous picture of a street done in 3d, to a video game. As if real life was something nobody else could conceptualize.
Yup there's buildings... Yup, there's a street... It totally reminds me of <insert video game here> !!1

It's more because of the giant 'futuristic like' building in the background, the guns, sex and booze store probably creates the GTA resemblance.

I've never played GTA. Actually that reference came up more in the earlier version, not so much the latest one. HalfLife, I can see now. But not GTA.
I'm working more with a Syd Mead feel either way.

wow very nice, i used to mess around with 3dmax back in the day, but i haven't in many years, i don't have the updated program
i do have all of Adobe Creative Suite CS3 which has a 3d program I think....Is 3dmax still considered the best along with Brice for 3d rendering or is Adobes' program good?
*edit* i just saw the 3d rendering on this page and it is very very good, nice work. *edit*

Well I don't know about 'considered the best' as there are others like Maya and lightwave. Though Maya is owned by Discrete along with Max. Lightwave, well, I haven't heard a lot about that in recent years. People seem to be switching to either Maya or Max.
As for Bryce, well. I stopped using it a few years ago. I got the latest version from DAZ but I've outgrown it. I'm all max now.
I've no idea about Adobe and 3d. I know cs3 extended had a nice 3d pipeline for importing and texturing, but that's it. I played with the demo and that was it. No idea about cs4.
