What do you think of my header image? It is made to be repeated across the top of the page. Thanks for your comments.

Would color distract from anything layered on top of it. I want my header to be a background for what I put on top of it.

My orginal design did not have any faces on it. I think this is beter than the orginal.

Any other ideas on how to improve it. The site is on forums,; I thought that smileys would look nice.

PS. Fusion if you like the avatar, I have a zip of them I could send you.

It's hard to say without seeing it repeat and without whatever you are putting on top of it.

I do think the idea of smilies good for a directory of forums.

Any suggestions?

How much bigger would it be if done in color? I think it is close to 20K for the smileys behind the logo - the logo is 4K. I don't want it getting too big.

What do you all think of the logo on the left of the image?

Are you putting text over top of the smilies?

If so:
I would fade the smilies out some.

If not:
I would make random smilies in color like ricoool said, only I would do more than just one.

The logo on the left:
The globe lines are a bit jaggy. I would maybe try to smooth them out a little bit.
