I don't use deviant art really, just to get wallpapers. And I'm assuming wall papers is the main reason why it gets a lot of people. And it's a way to host images for free with no limit.

So John shoul make a sub section of the graphics directory like Deviant Art

Deviant art is like a portfolio. I dont use it because theres about 9 million completely talentless kids with giant egos, but I think thats what people like.

DeviantArt is a designer (not only webdesigner) community website and v7n is mostly based on Internet Marketing, SEO and such terms. (That's just my opinion about v7n. I haven't been around for too long though.)

If I were an art student who has a talent in creating cool art workz I'd probably find myself in DeviantArt instead of v7n.
When I was doing web design stuff for the former companies I was working for, DA was one of the first sites I came across while looking for webdesign resources.

And I think DA and v7n are like apples and oranges. They both taste good though.

With all those members, you'd think they'd find one decent designer to make a decent skin for the place... theirs is one of the very worst I've seen.

so, to further answer the question, I'll have to add....

.. a very dreary look.

this has been one of my favorites. I like the new logo. I am a big fan of grey though.

I wasn't sure if that was a green or a gray....

The design of the logo is ok, but it's bland like the skin.. and also partially covered up by an adsense window ..

I'd probably fit in better over there because I don't know anything about SEO and such, but the amount of "pH0t0sh0p kidz" makes me regret every visit to deviant.

edit: also because I am infact one of the pH0t0sh0p kidz im just really good at hiding it, and use legit software.

They are constantly trying to change their site to better meet it's demands. IDK I upload something to deviantart and look a week later

. But I really hate it when I submit something and it doesn't go through, even when it does give me a message saying it did.

i use the rosity gallery, personaly, because its a good place to have my images hosted and i get feedback from other users. deviant art is the same thing, though from what i hear, they cater more to the twisted/sexualy active crowd along the lines of renderotica and the like.

if v7n had an online protfolio available to their users, i doubt highly youd get graphics artist flodding in to show their works. nobody at any of those sites doesn anything internet related in their graphics and probably wouldnt have the first clue how. most of them only know how to pose digital dolls and import countless object files and textures other people made. *shrug* i see very little talent anywhere these days, dont let them come here.
