Image Compression in Photoshop

Everytime I make this elaborate image the file size for it is horrendous! How can I save it with a really good quality (like 10) and still have a reasonable file size?

Are you saving these images as the correct file types (.gif .jpg .png)?

No way I know of.

Just have to compromise with the slider (optimize) in save for web.

Most pics, I can't even notice any difference between high and max.

10 (or 100 or max) doesn't equal best according to the eye. Best quality could be 7 and remain best through to 10, yet if you choose 7 instead of 10 your reducing file size considerably. That's what optimizing is all about.

Also, when you are choosing "Save for web' play around with the number of colors, as you reduced the number of colors in the image it will reduce the size. Most of the time you can cut down the colors quite a bit and still retain good quality.

Yeah that's kool, just played around with that a bit.
I see it's only for gif and png though.

Good bit of info here.
