(which is hardly surprising with such little info to go on) You then completely misunderstood a humerous remark regarding a comment somebody had made. You didn't actualy recieve any negative criticism at all.
I tried to explain that in order to recieve feedback/constructive criticism it would have helped if you had or could explain the concept behind the image , where it was from? what was it for? what had you done to it? Which you completely misunderstood.
Now it seems that you somehow wanted to make the image appear angelic (not obvious from the 'angel' title or comment. Angel is also a name) had you explained this from the start, something along the lines of-
This is an image I took from such a place....., I did the following to it...., I wanted the image to have an 'angelic' look, it is for the following purpose.....
And now the topic has come the full circle, I would have been perfectly willing to have given some constructive feedback, but frankly I have now lost the will to live. Good luck with whatever it is that you want to achieve.

K thanx... and good luck to you too.

Ok... maybe a hint of orange or yellow glow or something?
I did a bunch of pretty kool stuff to it last night and didn't save it like a damn fool... now I'm having to start over from this... I could kick myself when I forget to save work.
Oh well .... I've a pretty fresh memory of what I did so I'll just do it again, that's what I'm doing now.

I was going to suggest a tint in the glow. But everyone would have their own perception of an angelic figue, perhaps it is ghosty, perhaps yellowy.. Try a couple of them

I expected some ideas on how to make the image more 'heavenly' looking.
|
Well in that case we expect you to say what you expect.
Your latest revisions have a cool distortion thing but it looks bad to me - 'angelic' and 'distorted' sort of go agaisn't each other.
Words I associate with angelic are pure, calm, innocent, loving and gentel.
Colours I think of are white and silver. You might also use other 'purity' and 'calming' colours like blue, or maybe even any of the pastel shades.
I quite like fusion's white version - probably the best so far.
Do you need to use this pic in particular? if you have another where she looks down on you, you could make her flying somehow perhaps?

I like the art, but perhaps the problem is the subject. To me she doesn't look like an angel. She looks pretty calculated, cold, a little evil (bitchy?). I like her face and such, but (beauty being in the eye of the beholder) that's not a face of an angel. Especially your last work brings her even closer to devilish.

Good points but that adds some complexity to the challenge.

I also agree with LJ in that Atom is going down the filter/overly distorted view, which doesnt fit in with angelic. It should remain somewhat pure.

What's a good way to get that tear to look like it's laying against the skin?

I think the overlay (fuzziness, if you will) is supposed to create that fuzzy feeling of the angelic "mellow", sorta nirvana association where nothing is sharply defined. Sometimes you will see/read about that nirvana-like, or fuzzy state even when considering angels' gender. According to some, angels do not even have gender. That girl certainly does. And she is damn sexy too - hardly something that comes to ones mind when talkng about angels. Nothing in her alone is fuzzy. Sharp look, clearly defined lines and expression, and that whole sexy feel to her seems to put her pretty far form the an angel.
