of course!
well one thing you'll learn about me is i pretty much always dislike 'busy' web sites. I'm a 2-colour type of designer, so i usually am put off by these sorta sites. However, this one is really nicely done. One thing i'm not sure about is having the navigation dead centre of a page, this really isn't the place where the eyes will naturally lead, or where ppl will expect the navigation. I know its kinda quirky and different to move a nav from the norm, but also doing this takes away some of the accessibility. I'd maybe be tempted to flip the title banner and the nav, so that it is hard left of the layout.
Everything else is great, i love the skin used on the forum too, is that designed by yourself? It's cool!
Well done on making a colourful, busy site that doesnt overwhelm!

Thanks for the compliment! I will try to work on my site this weekend. I only do it whenever i can. It is a lot of work! Im sure you know it, you're a webdesigner yourself.
I made the board skin from scratch. it's used to be blue. you will notice that there are still some remaining blue strips in the forum and i couldnt figure out how to change it

for sure its a tiring, long process, i'm usually pretty fast at getting the initial thing done, then i take a while, on my own sites, that is. Clients and friends sites i try to whip up in 2 days or less, to impress em and get some repeat business

I agree! But i only do this as a hobby
I did try to join a webdesign logo contest from the other site a month ago i think. This is a sample of what i did for her. I havent heard from her about who win the contest or what.. well i guess , i didnt win . lol. So i'll just save it for future use. I might start a family forum sooon! WHo knows, lol.

It looks very nice except for the heart, I don't like the heart. I don't really care for those hearts in your site either.

I think I would consider a really brilliant shiney golden heart that would stand out from all other graphics on the site and be the branded logo. Or maybe a beautiful gradient deep rose red heart... something very positively impressionable.
I just like intensely beautiful graphics. Some prefer a mild pastel sort of look ...
.. not me... I mean, it's ok but I like there to be at least some contrast usually... you know?
Your site isn't bad cause the colors aren't too pale... a few are but that makes for a pretty good contrast.

No one won. It was all just a set up. All the entries are on the black market as we speak changed just enough by pro manipers working day and night! They've got several thousand contest entries to work over! Most of the contests are contracted by the same few people for decent profits. The manipers are Taiwanese working for 3 bucks an hour!
j/k .. : )
