Right, here's the score...basically the lad i was doing uwried with decides he doesn't want to be in the business any more and has moved onto becoming a rock star or sumat or other.
Anyway, i don't wanna do the company alone so i'm making my own portfolio again...just been doing this most of the night and this is the result, quite happy with it, got an idea for the empty space too, scanner will be in use again 2moro! So treat this as a WIP for now
Regarding the text i've written on it, i'm a firm believer in a relaxed attitude to this business, I don't wanna be doing corporate web sites all the time, I wanna do sites that will keep me motivated and interested in designing, really bespoke work, so the sort of people i am targetting are bands, artists etc. and i believe coming across as a real person is very important to making people feel comfortable while on the site.
well yeah, but it'll be changed soon, and its just a patch innit, like a said its more of a creative thing than a nicely layed-out content filled page.
btw, the 'spiral' text in the bottom of your portfolio is quite big too
Hey I've got a different B+W pic of Lennon in that same shirt in my pics... I think I snagged it from Orkut ... he's looking to his left in this one ... The shirt says New York City on it. It's 399px by 300px ... just noticed it as I was going through my pics file.

If i was coming to this site as a (this may be jaded... cause i'm a designer and looking for imperfections in everything i see) 'customer' i would be wondering why i'm seeing a target button and a button with personal views on it (not that I disagree with them) and a photo of john lennon, who was a person that fought authority and was fairly anti corporate. Those two things along with the blue jean 'mentality' would make me worry... and turn away.
The reason I say that is I would be wondering is this person going to try and force their political and social views on me and my project? He's into bluejeans and working class 'rights'... so if my project is aimed at upscale people is he going to refuse the project or try to sabotage it?
These are things that come to my mind when looking at that through 'coporate' spectacles.
I like the look though, look bandwidth hungry, but I like it.

lol ur looking at that the wrong way really, i dont really expect to get much work from this site anyway as its usually word of mouth, but i just can't stand run of the mill things, standard boring grey blue lil logo etc.
It's nothing about imposing any views onto anyone's project, its merely a collection of my favourite things. If it was a web site where I was gonna get my primary client-base from, of course it would be different.
I just feel showing creativity and ideas, is better than trying (and mostly failing) to sound professional.

BTW, the target is merely a Mod logo, for the movement of music i'm into at the moment. Like i said, personal stuff on it.
you gotta bear in mind that it IS fake and not scanned or anything, well one of the pins is, but the rest is all drawn so it's not gonna look EXACTLY real. Did as good as I possibly could.
