i was playing around and i think i made a circle, added noise, and put a texture really fine on the circle and.... clouds first

erm look at my planet in image design contest give u some ideas... you need like a base texture....clouds layer and an atmosphere layer.... best to get a high res texture twice as big as ur planet then fill it

or use the emboss filter and play around with image levels and brightness contrast good work

it's ok - just looks like a v long way away - which means it's v big - which help it look like a planet.

Check out some planet photos, I don't think the moon looks very sphericle - more like a disc.

Having said that, spheerizing your planet would help the illusion. Illusions don't have to look true to life - just give the illusion, so by making something inaccurate you can make it seem more real.

ask yourself about the lighting wheres it coming from etc.... it doesnt look very spherical

i like it, but i would change the shadow or something to make it look more sphereical, i looks like half of a sphere
