what is the best for Web logo extension(format)? .jpg or .gif

Logos are usually graphic and don't have a photo so .gif or .png format would be the right choice.

With graphics if you save them as .jpg they don't turn out as well. Using .gif or .png format they will be clearer (sharper).

.jpg is better suited of photos.

For best result use .png or .gif. The results are clearer and sharper. Good Luck

With *.png's though you run into the problem with older browsers. There's still too many of them out there and their inability to display a *.png.

Surely the png as it is very professional looking and with it's transparency it can be included on any background color .

Older versions of IE have a problem with transparent .png images. If you want transparency, go with good old transparent .gif.
