I don't use tutorials Pimp ... I just keep experimenting on my own using the knowledge I've gained from tia (my sister) and listen to what people have to say in the forum and learn things here and there from them ...

you should really condsider using tutorials, you'd be really supprised on what you learn

oh I read them ... but I don't actually sit down and follow them step by step ... If I see something I haven't tried before in one, I try that one thing, or if it's two steps, I try the two etc..., and if I find them helpful, I incorporate it/them in with what I already know ... so actually, I guess I do use them, but I have never actually sat down and followed the instructions in a tutorial, start to finish.
one thing I seem to have a hard time understanding "fully", is the pen tool ... and I've read about it quite a bit, but still don't know how to use it fully ... that's a tough one for me ...
incidentally... that was some excellent advice you got from AcRoNym, about the deer shadow ...

thanx ... I made it with the pen tool ... it doesn't look too bad at a normal button size either but, of course the mesh disappears .... but it's ok cause it just takes on a smooth gradient look which is ok ...
