how to make this with image ready?

Hello,
What I want to do is something like this: Here (the image in a round frame).

I know how to make a circle, remove the background in it and then add an image in the circle. What I don't know is how to create that nice faded effect on the circle border.

Anyone know where I could find a tutorial for that?

Thank you

Seeing you mentioned Image Ready in the thread title, I'm assuming you have Photoshop also.

You set the feather once you select the select tool.
  1. Select the elliptical select tool.
  2. Feather appears at the top under the menu bar.
  3. Set the feather you want.
  4. Hold the shift key as you draw the circle.
  5. Once you let go of the shift key, you can move the circle.
  6. Inverse the selection - Select in menu bar, Inverse.
  7. Press Delete and it deletes the background outside the circle.
Attached sample was done with 50px feather.

Your exemple is exactly what I am looking for! Unfortunately, there is some kind of corruption in my photoshop and I can use it any more (if only I could find the install cd!!!)

I'll have a look in image ready to see if those options are available
