Transparency in Fireworks

I have been using an image in Fireworks with the canvas set to Transparent, but when I set the button in my website it had a light grey background - in contrast to my background colour. What can I do to make the light grey colour disappear?

Thankyou.
It is only giving me the option of saving as .png. I tried saving it as image.gif, but it didn't work, it just kept saying image.png. How can I change it over in Fireworks?
