Bmp to Vector

i have an image in fricking bmp format when i try to import it to flash its messed up can u convert it to vector art while keeping to nice edges or not?? or do i have to draw the thing again.. and if so whats the qucikest way?? pen tool?? in illustrator? ps??

dont know why he gave me a bmp tp make a movie with

It depends how complex the image is. You could try the TRACE BITMAP option in Flash and see how you get on. You can also optimise it. If you can't import it properly try converting it to a JPEG and importing that.

Otherwise, yes. Redraw it in Illustrator. Import the bitmap as a template and draw over the top. I often find this to be the best and cleanest solution - and it rarely takes as long as I think it will.
