Need something to edit .mov file

Customer found a clip he wants to use that comes in .mov (along with non editable formats) and wants his site name added. We will be using it as a header once edited.

This will be a legit license purchase for the .mov clip. Was told by the image source site that I can edit the clip if I have the right software.

What would you recommend getting to edit the file?

QuickTime 7 Pro for Windows is $29.99 (USD I assume) and so are a few other pieces of software that say they can be used. I'm guessing that QuickTime Pro ain't going to export to Flash seein Steve Jobs is anti Flash.

My Sony video camera (like a Flip) exports the videos as MP4 so if the software worked with that too, that would be great so I can make one video/edit my videos from the 2010 Olympics too!

Anyone have any recommendations?

While waiting for your feedback, I have continued to do some research and found this site: 2010 Video Editing Software Review Product Comparisons

Top 3 are:
CyberLink PowerDirector
Corel VideoStudio Pro X3
Adobe Premiere Elements

Others I have seen around but not in the top 3 on that site are:
Pinnacle Studio
Roxio Creator

I'm on a Win7 64bit machine.

I use Vegas for all my editing. Ultimately it comes down to how much you want to spend and what you're looking to get out of it - one might influence the other. If you're looking to get a quick cut, add a title etc I'm sure you can even use an open source or free program but QT Pro will let you do simple cuts.

As far as exporting to flash - are you looking to export for flash video? If that's the case, you can export to h.264 which you can play in a flash video player.

I was thinking that Flash would be more common on machines than QuickTime.

That's a fair assessment. For winboxes anyways.

QTPro can encode h.264 and a flash player which will play .f4v files just like an .flv . The only requirement is that the viewer/visitor have Flash player 9+ installed.
