New Logo feedback please!

We are trying to come up with a new logo/rebrand for our wedding photography website. Our logo needs to be scalable in that it works for business cards, website and watermark on photos.

This is our first attempt:

To visit our current website see: alysefrenchphotography.com

Some adjectives that describe our brand would be happy/vintage/modern

I actually like it. It definitely has the feel that it is a wedding photography company with the elegant classy text.

This was a hard one to critique; at first, it didn't seem that the text was very scalable due to the intricate typography, but after I put it on a wedding photo as a watermark:

Looks just fine to me my only suggestion would be to change the way the Y overlaps the "h" in "photography"; it makes it too hard to see once scaled down.

Nicely done, good luck

I think that's genuinely very nice. I like it. It's done with taste and class. I think you will do well with that. Has the website also been redesigned?

Personally and professorially, I'm not a fan. I thinks it too flamboyant and wild and does nothing to brand the business.

Aim for something anyone could duplicate with ease on the back of a napkin. Start from there because what you have isn't a logo, its typeface. And, also, extremely distracting on that image.

Looking at your site, you use a lot of flourish - why not incorporate a simple flourish design as a mark? Or those two birds?

I would view your business as boutique photgraphy business, on that level it works for me. I am assuming you most of your customers come to you for the quality of your work and personal service. I feel that a corporate logo style may not work. I could be wrong.

Good luck anyway.

I agree, a corporate-style logo wouldn't be fitting.

you added 2 free fonts that don't even go together
so even as a typographic logo it's very poorly done
the fonts arnt unique enough to be remotely memorable

jay.m also made a good point that if you can draw it in seconds
then people that see it will be able to redraw it just as quick
meaning they'll be more likely to remember it

that's what branding is i guess

I think it will be good if you can use simple typeface with unique symbol.

I think professionals are always the most nitpicky-- So I sent the link a friend on AIM. Their thoughts were: "I like it."
