aside from these, there is also the element of Texture, Art, Illustration and Photography..
"The term graphic design can refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. Various methods are used to create and combine symbols, images and/or words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages."

I always thought that there are more elements of design work. But to know about important ones is rather useful for the fresh designer.

The important factor of the graphic deisgning is photography .
Because whole design depends upon this mechanism.

Why are you two including photography? A graphic design can be done without using photography.

For me, its all about color, balance, and texture, and creativity.
When I use a lot of vibrant colors I tone it down with a neutral colour, but make sure its also complimentary in some form. When you design something, you can usually tell when something is off, and experimenting with different colors can help, especially if you want to avoid redesigning something.
Balance, to me, is making sure that the page doesn't seem overloaded and heavy with effects etc. You can also see when a page is like this, even at first glance. Texture is important if you want to create depth in a design. Experimenting with different textures can help you bring another dimension to your design and give it a uniqueness, making it stand out from other designs.
There are a lot of cut and dried guidelines to design, yes, but most of the time, you only use it to form a basis for a design. Everything else comes from you. All designers and artists have their own style in one form or another. Working on that style is important for any artist or designer.

There is so much to consider when you're designing! But that shouldn't scare you off.
