Some good image creating software?
i need a good software that is not called Photoshop.
I love the logo of my site but I need something even fancier.

Well, it doesn't get a lot better than photoshop so if you're not able to create a better logo with it you should rather look into outsourcing the logo instead of a new software. My

For a logo you really should look for a program that produces vector graphics. With a vector graphics program you will be able to resize the logo better than with a raster graphics program.

www.pixlr.com is a great piece of online software it is similar to photoshop has it uses layers etc, I'd see what you can do with that one.

Now, Adobe CS4 is at the top of the world of images. Photo-shop can fulfill all things related to image processing, however this software is quite expensive and you have a good time to learn. It is ideal for professional photographers, serious amateur photographers as well as Web and graphic designers.

Corel, Gimp, FastStone Image Viewer... Actually it depends on what you'd like to make. FastStone works with ready-to-use images. Corel & Gimp hep you create a picture from a sketch. So it's up to you.

yes around 8 years back i was using macromedia firework have various inbuilt features .
still i use that image in my site
and even irfanview is the easy and light weight tool used for after effect

Are trying to create vector images so i suggest you to choose adobe illustrator or freehand its best for creating vector design images.

Gimp is the way to go man. Infact, a professional graphic artist once told me that Gimp is just as good as Photoshop, but just harder to work with.

Agree with the folks talking about gimp. There is also gimpshop which is redesigned to look even more like Photoshop on the interface
