Welcome to the community. I hope you enjoy your stay here

hmm, that's tricky. Do you have a layout in mind? One thing I can advise you to do is stay away from using really bright colors. You can use them in small items on a site, but never as a main background color etc. Stick with colors that are easy on the eye, meaning, you can spend up to about 20 minutes at a time reading on the site without your eyes hurting or straining.

You can also use colors that are complimentary to a logo etc. But I can't offer any solid advice if I can't see a template or the actual site online. Is is a new site? Or are you upgrading an existing site?

I have used a tool once or twice that will give you complementary colours, providing the web references and rgb references etc. Have never remembered the name of the site, but I always find it searching for 'great colour schemes'!

Realised that wasn't very helpful, so looked it up. It's colourschemedesigner.com and still around. Really nice tool!

Tools like those are a great help yes. But at the same time I have seen some really outlandish color mixes that actually came out looking pretty good.

I would say that instead of working according to rules and color guidelines, experiment until you find the colors you like. If the site looks good regardless of the colors you used, then its a job well done.
