how to do this shadow in Fireworks?

I have created this background shadow http://yestech.com.au/tile_background.png .

I want the corners to be without shadow like this http://www.templatesbox.com .

How do I do this in Fireworks 8?

Any help is much appreciated!

Cheers,

Marty

just merge it with another blank layer ( the white box layer that is ) and then you can remove shadows! I know it's not the normal and good way, but it's a way that works!

Re: how to do this shadow in Fireworks?

This is Fireworks 8 by the way.

That's the only way I can think of doing it - overlay 2 other white layers each with smaller width and height respectively than original white layer and apply glow (shadow). Then bring original white layer to the front.

That will get the shadow effect I want. I am new to Fireworks and surprised there are not more shadow and glow effects built into such a powerful graphics editor.

Maybe there are some plug-ins that will do the job?

Cheers, Marty
