Animation Blues
Can someone help me... I am having serious problems getting my animations that are created on a MAC in ImageReady to work on the Co. Laptop which is a PC. I have tried exporting original document and saving as .mov file, saving as .swf etc.. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Heya Prado,
I'm confused. When you say 'to work', what does that mean?
I've never used imageready. It exports to swf and mov? really?

I've never used power point either.
There's allot that can go wrong between two different computers, nevermind two different operating systems. Without getting a run through of the details of how you compiled your pp mac presentation there isn't anything I can offer up there... But I dont think it's an animation problem, per say, but a PC power point issue.
Assuming it plays just fine on the mac.

The whole PP was created on a MAC. The animation I made in photoshop CS2 then exported to IR. In IR I set number of frames and exported original document and saved as .mov file. When I placed movie from file in PP it asks do I want it to play automatically & I hit ok. When you go to view show it works beautifully on the Mac. Then I burn whole file with links & all placed files to a disk & download it on the laptop (DELL). I open up the file in PP and everything works like all the animations & actions I placed on stuff like text, photo fade ins ect. but the animation only goes to white screen. I am so frustrated!!! I know there has to be a specific way to save the file to get it to work but I guess I am retarded. I also tried saving as .Swf, IR GIF, Animated GIF etc. Maybe I should just let my boss use my power book when he makes his presentations.

you had me until, "but the animation only goes to white screen."
When its on the DELL it loads fine into pp is what your saying? and it plays fine there? But when you play the compiled (mac) pp on the DELL it doesn't play? Have you tried compiling on the DELL? Instead of the mac?

When I play it on the Dell everything but the placed .mov file works. It just shows a blank screen like nothing is there.

Tried updating quicktime on your DELL? The mac and pc versions might be different. Since the pp only embeds the .mov, if the DELL isn't using the same quicktime version, (or at least updated) it might not show up.
Be systematic. Check the mac version against the DELL and if the DELL is lesser than the mac version, update it then try playing it. Or compiling it on the DELL itself then playing.
QUICK THOUGHT....
Not having used pp. Does it actually embed the file or only link? If it only links, make sure the .mov your linking to is available for the pp to locate on the DELL.

Well hopefully it boils down to a quicktime problem. I mean, not that being hopeful for a problem is good, but at least if its that, theres support and such.
Though it could still be some off-the-wall thing or bug. Until the playback issue is fully resolved, we may never know.
