Okay, I'm useless with graphics, and would like to know how to add text on to a graphic say a photograph.

I've found the text tool but that sucks because it only has the usual Arial etc font.

How do I get fancy fonts on to graphics?

Just Arial? It should have all the fonts on your system.

In the Character window (if you don't see it - activate it from "Window/Character") you can select any font - as ToddW mentioned - installed on your computer.

Okay - Great Stuff I've found I have six million fonts

So I've entered some text on a photograph and I want to make this look more appealing than just boring font. What could I do to make it look more 3D ish.

You can start with applying Bevel layer style... but be cautious with it - it's very easy to turn the nicely looking 3D text into the early 90's nightmare with 10pixel bevel applied
Just play with the values - angles, sizes and types of the bevels.

Okay don't laugh..

This is my FIRST attempt at using photographs and text.

I've figured how to shadow the text a little - decided 3d was a bit ambitious!

The design is very nice - nothing to laugh at
Now try adding a stroke (outer) to the lower text - for example a white one, just to add some contrast and make it easier to read. Experiment.

It's pretty damn powerful software!

I'm going to keep practising and playing - only way to learn!

Thanks for the advice
