Corel is pretty much dead. The war is over. Adobe won. It used to have a more customizable user interface, but the past few CS updates have ended any argument.
You're asking about doing layouts, so the answer is InDesign.
The names pretty much give the hint about what these tools do.
Photoshop is for editing photos (and creating custom digital raster art).
Illustrator is for making illustrations (and custom digital vector art).
Ilustrator can be used for making one-page layouts. Not photoshop - photoshop is not a layout program. For layouts more than one page, use InDesign.

Photoshop forever as Corel Draw is dead already. Lots of new features on newer versions of Photoshop. Good job.

As I am a Web designer in my company, Sometimes I have to design the visiting card and catalog for the customers,
So far my concern You can do limited features with Photoshop, as you can not stretch the individual letter with Photoshop, So try to always use the Coreldraw, it will give you the complete reference what you are in need of.
And try to search print media what they actually use to do this thing, No one can say about that the business card can't be made without corel, even the print media always use the two software for these things, the first one is corel and 2nd one is PageMaker.
Hope it will be helpful to decide you

Corel also have an application called PaintShop Pro. It is very easy to use and not as expensive as Photoshop. Have you considered that?

in my humble opinion the two programs are good, but they are for different things, plus there are alternatives that are better and free (for those licenses) INKscape and gimp

Photoshop is best and one of the most demanding tool for any type of image editing or work which related to graphics design. So i prefer and go with Photoshop.

Corel and Photoshop are often used for different aims.
So I'd say everything depends on you, not the software.

OK - photoshop is PHOTO editing software. It is designed to edit PHOTOS. It is not designed to create fliers, business cards or the like. For those, you use Adobe Indesign. I would no more suggest using Photoshop to make a flier than I would suggest Excel as a word processor.

I don't use corel draw. Illustrator is probably the best thing if you are using a lot of text. But if you're using mostly images then photoshop is the way to go.
