What I have noticed is if you are dealing with more than one person you tend to find one of them gets overly excited and wants all the input.

Repeating yourself is a must IMO. Just so they know whats going to happen and what they have agreed. The root of the problem is the client not being prepared enough.

Great Infographic!

I can relate. I heard and witness this is actually happening in any company / people offering web design services. One thing I'm always afraid of is when you presented (let's say) 3 mock ups, then the client still gives a thumbs down rate. And there's no sale made, you left the mock up with them, and the scary part might happen ... he (the client) use it as his official design.

Can they be sued for this? It might depends, so here's the situation ... If the client didn't sign any contract or any disclosure form, all talk.

kinda like the bit where it says the client loves it and only wants a few changes, then the next day the client sends 10 pages of changes.

Oh man! I've had the 20% client. Tip. Don't do webdesign jobs for family. EVER!!!

That 35 day cycle turned into more than 5 years of hell.

That's the reality behind web design. Most of the clients do not actually know what they're asking for not until they get the wrong one.

OMG it's so true!

I can't understand this 'the client picks the mockup you hate' so why designers show designs that they hate?

eh, perhaps the designer could work on convincing the client that the bad one is not the way to go in this current day and age.

Then again, the client is paying the designer money so the designer will not fight with his or her client which could lead to negative press about the designer.

Still, If i was a designer, I would not show the one I hated but make 2 similiar versions with different colors and few different design's.
