V7N Wallpaper Contest?

John and I were talking on the phone and brainstorming about ideas for a new contest here on v7n.com

At one point the idea of a desktop wallpapers came up and we both liked the idea... however, we wanted to run it by you guys and gals to see if there would be interest.

Rules would be:
- single monitor design
- __?__ x __?__ required screen size (we can all debate the best size if we decide to do the contest)
- winner would be chosen by open voting.
- winner would win $100.
- contest would run for a month.
- Multiple subbmissions welcome.
- Theme (of course) would be V7N, V7 Network, etc.

what do you, the good people of the forums, think? is it worth doing? would you enter? etc. etc.

Juggo if I did do something I'd make sure you saw it, I just don't like being in graphics competitions, I'm afraid I'm not a very good sport I guess.

Sounds like an interesting contest but I won't personally be entering, I would be more interested in a contest to do with web design.

actually it is one aspect of webdesign... promotional items.
Everytime I ever designed band websites (or fan style sites of any kind) I always had requests for a download section and wallpapers... most of the time the client had no idea what they wanted, they just wanted to "give something away".

anyway... It does fall under part of the whole process of web design. Trying to design a promotional item that people like enough to plaster as their desktop. It's not as easy as you might think.

...and this is the graphics forum, so it would be a graphic based contest.

I suppose put like that it does have something to do with web design, and I agree it sounds far from easy, I am extremely picky about dektop pictures I tend to avoid any with visible branding.

I might have a go at my first competition - I'm crap at graphics but it could be good fun to learn.

Could we be supplied with logo or other branding graphics.
