I don't fully understand what you're trying to do, frankly....you want the text to scroll from side to side...maybe what you're wanting to do is better suited to flash?

imageready breaks it down into pieces basically, so you'd need to have the image of the text moving in different places, and then placed in different spots to give it the illusion of moving...if that makes sense?

Ferre's image (for reference) >

I didn't have instructions either, just the help files. Again, what I did was employ a trial and error method, going back and forth between the Adobe help files and the animation program (ImageReady) until I achieved my goal.

In ImageReady click on Help/ImageReady Help/Index/A/(scroll down to)animations and read the help files under animations. Be persistent. If you get stuck in the help files, go to IR and experiment, fool around, try different things. When you get stuck in the program, go right back to the help files and read again. Keep doing this, back and forth back and forth until you are successful. Persistence is the key.

To scroll text on Imageready, first create the text and place it where you want it to start scrolling from. Then create a second animation frame and on that frame, move the text to where you want it to end. Then select both frames, and click the 'tween' button in the animation palette. Then you can select number of frames etc.

By the way, i think because you are wanting to do it in a certain area, maybe the blue part (the LCD part) should be the background to the image, with the box part being cut out of one of the top layers. This would allow you to scroll the text underneath the layers that make up the mp3 player.
