First off let me say sorry to Brian for jacking his thread...

Depends on what you mean exactly.
Digital = 8 years, on and off...
Web = 2 years.
with decent software = about 3 years.
Here's a little background:
I'm 29 and I have been into art as long as I can remember. I won my first art contest when I was 5 (in first grade) #1 out of 1st - 6th graders in a poster contest... won my first regional art contest when I was in 5th grade... and it just goes from there... I design tattoo flash, to web sites, to auto paint schemes... to... you name it in the design business I've probably been there at some point.
I'm 100% self taught & I don't have a degree, (good in art, not in passing grades in higher education)... so with no degree all this untapped creative power goes without a funnel to put it into... some business could get a bargin from me if they would just hire me on. But until then, I'll just keep on keep'n on with my personal web business and doing graphics as the jobs come to me.
More info then you wanted... I know, but I like to talk alot. (my wife says I don't shut up)

Graphics produced by means of digital electronics.
Maybe you should consider posting more often on the forum like you have tonight, it may possibly lead to the job offer of your life, despite your lack of a degree... and keep producing graphics and posting them, I'm sure you're probably busy and all, but maybe try to post like 1 a week or something.... fresh stuff... the graphic design forum has lots of lurkers I'm sure, and more all the time, who knows who some of them could be, maybe a person heading a big company doing some scouting...

I don't post because (besides the lack free time) I don't want to hear comments like "looks like another juggopop style" or "your a graphic god" or have someone with no skill tell me my bevel is to large, just to say something.
I used to post alot... and I do get some work from here.
but when I post images on here all I really want is basic "it's good" or "I don't really care for it"... unless they can give me some really good advice.
sounds petty I'm sure, but I don't care for most of the responses people leave.
Just seems like people either try to kiss up or don't like you... not a lot of honost unbiased opinions coming my way.
and to answer your "graphics by digital means" question the way I should have... without all the jibber jabber... about 8 years.

The lack of free time is certainly an understandable obstacle ... .. I haven't heard any, of what I would consider jibber jabber, at all from you... only helpful and interesting stuff imo ... and I really appreciate it ...

Yep.... I see just what you mean now Juggo... I went back and looked at it again and fooled with my monitor brightness this time and, a simple fill wouldn't cut it at all with this one ... so much for my opinion on that one! ... I've learned a "good" lesson tonight .. thanks to you ..

yeah I know what you man by that... but it does happen.
here I went ahead and made another version of his image.
"juggopop style", but this is the kind of thing you can do to repair.
one I faded out the burst all the way around to make sure no mistakes could be seen, then I just added stuff on top of that so incase they do have the brightness up, it will atleast look like I filled it. (which I did, just with dark colors for texture)
take a look...

That's one friggin awesome image ...

Even that quick pic you made is amazing :-D How do you do the web type texture in the corners?
I tried masking the original image. What are the advantages of masking instead of erasing? Is it just to be able to undo in future use?
