looks a bit plain, but nice.
if your making templates let me suggest this site:
http://www.lipsum.com/
It generates text that looks (to the human eye) as real words and content... it's nice to fill with that fake text and really show off how the text is formatted in the template.
just a tip.

I think it looks great, but the blue and red throw it off, if you kept with the colors in the banner, it would look better, find color that compliment it and then work around that. It looks like you had a great idea, then couldn't figure out what colors to use so just threw in some blue and red. It looks great though.
