Print Screen + Enter under Gnome (Linux). And it saves as .png, which is loss-less.

There are pretty more different kinds of screen capture software. I have used SnagIt and ACA Capture Pro, both are good.

Printscreen sometimes doesn't work when u want to capture frames from a video file. Does anyone know why??
