As a few of you might know - traffic bunnies is ging under a few changes. But I am really no designer - yup, not a designing bone in my body! That's why i am here....

So, A friend made this beaut header for me, but I don't know what else to do with the front. I need input about colours mainly. It's a Walker Script, and I am not really great at coding, so the basic shape of the site needs to stay the same, but don't know what colours.

I was thinking about making the info side bar, the same colour as the back ground - think getting rid of the actual box look might make the site look a bit different than the million other walker te's out there.

Please let me know what you think! Oh yeah, and if anyone is interersted in advertising their sites, just sign up and send me a support ticket saying that you are from v7 network and I'll give you an extra 50 hits. No, that wasn't supposed to be spam - just want to say thanks to the community.

I don't see much any direction in terms of design, the header in it of itself doesn't lend much either.

You can always hit color-lovers for some palette ideas.

Well, that's really not helpul! I know that I can't change heaps in the way of design. Have already acknowledged that. Am asking for help on colour choice. Not to be pointed in the direction of a program. I have checked it out - looked the colour satches etc, but am still having trouble choosing. That's why I am here....

You said the basic design of the site needs to remain the same... So I just comented on there not really being a design... I mean, there is... I'm not blind, but there isn't a desernable 'design' imo. <-me telling you what I think, as you asked.

I know that you are right, about the lack of design involved. Sorry, I don't know what imo means.

I know I am going to sound really mean - just please understand, that I am not a mean person (really!), but did you read my original post? I already talked about making the isb and the background the same colour. I just want to know what colour you think it should be.

Am I being too unclear? I am not good at choosing colours, and would love for some suggetions about what colours would look good. If you were a member of my te, what would you like to see?

Your being very clear in that you want someone else to do it. I'm trying to help you help yourself, not do your work for you.

Maybe I'm not being clear.

Color is a very subjective concept for a website. Not only does color fundementally have it's own emotional context but it is part of your message to your customers/clients. While I see you've decided to go with a very calming color palette, green and blue, white... (to dumb it down) Why would you see fit to change it, if not to change your website's persona? And if you're going to do that, start with the design first, then choose your color.

That's just my opinion. And color lovers will have many colors to choose from. What would you like to see?

Ok, thank you for 'dumbing it down'. I am not offended that you need to be so up font and clear. You see, I like the freshness of the header and wanted to work what is already there with the rest of the page. I have had a look at color lovers and bookmarked it. What a fantastic site!

The reason I started this thread was more to get an idea about what people think would look good. Maybe I am in the wrong place. I am sorry if I have wasted your time.

The flash banner's great, but the resolution is too low, as looks choppy. All else are fine, clean and neat.

You know, I think the design is alright. It has potential. The side bar is alright and the flash header is okay also, but you need to have some sort of colour where all the text is, but a different colour than the background, maybe a light blue or something.

Also maybe put the menu links just under the banner in a new table row or have it on a complete new line with a colour, maybe white or a very light blue.

Also I think your whole site should have a border around it. Maybe a 1px Dark Blue/Green border.

Just some tips from the moose Good luck with your site.

I think you have too many clashing blues going on. I'd get rid of the Walker blue on the left, maybe use the blue from the sky. The blue text in the Flash clashes with the blue of the sky (but speaking of the Flash, remember that a lotta exchanges surfers surf with Flash *off*, so they won't see your header anyway). There're also purple-y blue and cornflower blue links on the page; it's too many clashing blues.

I think you're doing yourself a disserve by not finishing off the "Watch your traffic multiply ... like rabbits/bunnies," 'cause you're leaving the punchline off the joke.

Folks say, "I was at the IMDb/I was surfing TrafficRoundup/I was looking in Google/etc," and they don't say "dot-com" after each, so I'd leave that off and just be "Traffic Bunnies."

Speaking of which: where're the bunnies? I don't see any bunnies! How can you be traffic bunnies without bunnies? Are they off-screen, making baby bunnies? You gotta have some bunnies!

Last one: I really, really don't like that shade of acid green. It's hard on the eyes.

(BTW, I made that banner for you to run in *other* exchanges; it doesn't go well with your page! The colors are all wrong.)

If you're gonna go with blue and green, consider lavender for your third color.

I have totally changed the colour, got rid of the flash banner and replaced it with my own attempt. I actualy designed it! Now I know it's lame - but it is my first ever attempt, so be kind.... (not too kind though - i can still take constructive critism...lol) And I even put a bunny on it. The rabbit isn't exactly what I wanted, but it's hard to find something that is free, and not lame. Would like more bunnies, but have tried to keep the layout simple.

So, please let me know what you think of the new tb's exchange

Your thread title title tells *us* to go crazy, but that's what you did with your header width: 1138 pixels! Have you gone mad?! 8-P Stop at around 760 or so.

I hate the colors, but that's prolly just me. I associate bunnies with grass. (I grew up on a farm, and besides having bizillions of 'em as pets, there were lots more in the vegetable gardens and in the fields, too. They always ate the lettuce.) Other folks associate 'em with Easter.

Whatever colors you choose, I'd make the "Traffic Bunnies" text a different color from the background so it stands out more.
