Seeking header and button suggestions

Ok...I'm keeping the basic images of the cute little city scene but I am just stuck on a logo kind of font and the buttons look like crap too me. I'm like at this offish low with design lately. I'm in some kind of funk. Anyway...any font suggestions, design suggestion would be great that would go with the top header. I want to keep the header as it is the same header for all of my city guides - kind of keeping it uniform.

So...help me out of my funk please!!!

My suggestion would be change the font of the "connecting US cities...bit", and have it follow and arc. Much to rigid as it is. You can leave the basic fonts in the buttons, especially if you are initiating them as text. That's always better, you don't have to worry about special font's being installed. I'd rather have text menus than all the graphic/rollover stuff.

This is exactly the same advice I was going to give!

Also.....I totally LOVE your header!

Your site is so cute!

Your gallery has a ton of potential! I have a lot of random photos from various states....would you like to use some of them? I have some in my gallery in here. But...I have many others stuffed into my PC.

And oh my goodness...I would love some photos. I have A LOT of visitors viewing the photo gallery but no one contributing (probably not easy to understand they can register and upload - need to work on that!). So that would be super wonderful.

And I started a contest for designing the header. Even though it is for my city guides I'm going to intergrate the new main header design with the US Cities one.

Here are some photos for you. I'm missing a bunch of them.....they're probably still in my laptop....which is in for repairs.

If I could ever get my scanner to work, I'd have a ton of photos for you. Most of my shots were from the pre-digital days.

For now...here you go.
