Will pay for help with Photoshop problem

Hi all

I wonder if someone would be so kind as to help with something. I have a PSD file with a simple graphic on it, and a word (a place name) accompanying it (see below).

I need to create these for about one or two thousand different places. I have a text file with a list of all the places and simply need to open the PSD, replace the text with one of the place names, save it as placename.gif, and then do the same again... and again... and again.

I'm only on Photoshop 5.5 and I don't think this is capable of doing it, but I have been led to believe it's pretty easier with more recent versions. So my question is 1) can it be done with PS 5.5? 2) if it can't, would someone here be so kind as to help me out? (if you PM an email address, I can send the PSD and the list of places) I'm prepared to pay a modest fee to cover time.

Thanks a lot

Aaron

Is 666 really the number if the Devil or Destruction?

What about this:

The world was created in 6 Days
Man was created in 6 Days
Woman was created in 6 Days

Shouldn't 666 be the sign of creation?

Well for Graphics Design with Photoshop for bulk images, please consider outsourcing it to us.

PM sent (with email address), this is quite easy send me the PSD and I'll have a look. Btw, all you have to do is make text layers and hide/unhide as you go.

1. Open the file.

2. Duplicate text layer (If you want to preserve all of the text layers, though thousands of layers might be much)

3. Hide old text layer (Click the eyeball in the layers palette)

4. Retype new text

5. Rinse/repeat

I hope that helps some, send the PSD along if you still need assitance.

The problem is that version 5.5 rasterizes the text straight after you have typed it whereas from versions 6 onwards it remains as a text element until you manually rasterize it if you are adding effects etc. to it.

(At least I think that's true, as far as I remember it is...)

Should only take somebody a couple of hours to do loads of these.

Whoa that would be crazy if it rasterized the text after you typed it!!!

LOL, who signed off on that at Adobe!?

lol, basically say you write your header text or something, soon as you type it then click another icon, it's rasterized and can't be edited. So, if you wanna change it you must re-create the text again and put it in exactly the same place etc. The text changes in PS6 are easily the best / most important change of the entire series, imo.

That is more cut and paste then I care to do.

Could you create the image with no text, place it on the page as a background image and then place the text via standard html and css?

If you can one image would serve for an umlimited number of texts.

If there was a way to create a completly automated action to do this, I would take it on. But I can't figure out how to read the text file.
