Pro Blue Universe But where to improve
I have just made up a redraft for the new professional, better intergrated Blue Universe site. This new site will be an entire new site with XHTML compatibility etc. and will be much faster than the current site. I am going for a pro look on this design but what would you recommend to improve. I want to use minimal colours as well.
I'll add text if you think that will make it easier to review.

Very nice looking I suggest using vector images though. Looks a bit more professional in my opinion.

The design is ok but lacks originality... I've seen too many designs like this....
I don't like the blue/purple on the left and right sides..

I agree with the vector suggestion. Something that would fill up the majority of the white space with like 35% opacity would look good i think. Just real subtle, you know, but i think it would help. Also, perhaps if the frames(tables) were slightly detached from each other it might define the borders further.

Looks rather ho hum to me so far car.. .. but if that's what professional is supposed to look like then, I guess it's ok..
.. the orb w/the arrow is kinda nice, although I like the one on your current site much better..

Your BlueUni you have now isn't bad. Thats pretty good....
But I suggest you try and do something no one else has done. Do something original.
I like looking at templates (pre-made ones) and taking little parts off each one and making one from all the little parts.
But try and make something original...

I am not advertising services, that is the only time I ever feel that I shouldn't have them. Another main reason for this move is that at the moment the site is slow loading and the code is bloated. I just want to make it quicker and neater.

it is a very basic design, I think it looks cheap. A design site needs either a dynamic design, or a professional design. I needs alot of work, Also, what is with the google ads space. I hate how people design around google ads, they are not that important. I think a design should be designed for content, not advertising. I just through google ads int eh bottom of my site, I would do that for you. You might turn away people by having them so bi, and in the main focus of the site.

What does that mean? Is it English?
I am not designing around Google ads, I just want to make some revenue from the site.
If it needs work, where? It is a lot easier if the criticisms are constructive as well. e.g. You have a problem here but this could be improved by doing so and so

well that is part of the job of being a web designer, you need to beable to come up with your own ideas on how to improve from peoples suggestions. It is just so basic. All solid colors. Just add some imahes or something.

Do you mean why? Why should I make it incompatible? I am sure many people would agree (LazyJim and NiceguyEddie come to mind) that meeting standards is very important.
