Thank you John and Jazzee ..
I should mention that the raven is the only image that I didn't create .. ... I borrowed that from google images... I hope I don't get in trouble .. I'm going to work on trying to create my own raven and then replace it ..

Very nice, Atom.
The only thing I noticed is a light line near the raven's neck. I can't help but thinking this would be darker with the sky colour behind.
Whole thing looks great overall, though.

If you're referring to the tree that the bird is perched on, surely you must realize that it is "intended" to look "terrible".
So.... Thanx, drummer4life05 ...

good point... I hadn't really thought about that...
I am going to be creating a raven of my own to replace that one, and I'll keep this in mind... I do see what you mean ...

Actually, that bit doesn't look as bad on this monitor. I was at work earlier and using a pretty awful monitor...

By distorting a rectangle of a single Photoshop7 default texture, to which I first applied a vertical gradient, and using the bloat and reflection tools, located in "liquify". I then added additional patterns and textures at reduced opacities, choosing "linear burn" during one of the pattern applications.

Oh... lol ..
I think it may have been made light in that area, to define the neck/chest line, and make it contrast the black (wing) background. Same with the beak.

Good work, nice use of that texture, you might get better results with some texture of a higher resolution. Like taking a picture of a tree's bark etc. The crow, is a good addition.

Thanx Ely... I used 4 I think it was, different textures on the tree to get that effect ... and 3 different ones in creating the land. There was some sharpening processes that I could prob. have avoided had I used better high resolution textures... but I'm just learning about the use of high res textures and have never even worked w/them before...
I'm reading the tut U sent me right now.... man..... I didn't even know anything of this sht till just today.... I have a bad habit of not reading, not to mention not ever having followed, tutorials, and I think I'll give this one you sent me a try... it looks interesting, ... I'll try some of this stuff in here... thanx for sending me that btw..

Hey Elysium... think you can draw me a raven to stick up there till I can figure out how to make one myself? I can't leave that one there cause I didn't ask permission to use it...
or... anyone? can anyone here actually draw? lol... I am not too good at it..
btw... Thank you all, who commented...
